Tom is a talented singer/songwriter, who also happens to be a proactive event promoter and qualified sound technician, with a degree in Sound Engineering from Deep Blue Sound in Plymouth.
Tom’s ethics and integrity are reflected in his commitment to promoting local grassroots talent through community events, and by the founding of Exeter Local Records to showcase south-west musicians via a pop-up record shop, regular promotions and an independent record label.
Tom’s experience ranges from setting up festival stages to managing band showcases and promoting bespoke cafe gigs. As well as producing his own events, Tom has helped to organise the musical programme for Exeter Respect Festival, and he has also developed several well-received compilations of original music from independent artists in the local area.
As a freelance sound engineer Tom has taken on various technical roles, including as mix engineer at Exeter Phoenix arts centre, patch engineer at Sidmouth Folk Festival, theatre sound for Exeter Unexpected Festival, and many other events throughout the county.
Tom is a familiar face at local gigs and he is well-known by many of the key musicians in the Devon area.
